That Little Voice Inside You

May 3, 2008

imgp3098This should be a precursor to every dating tip. Above all else, don’t ignore that little voice inside of you. You know, the one that quietly whispers, maybe he isn’t the right guy. Or the one that makes excuses for his rude behavior.

When we feel like we’re falling in love, sometimes it’s so easy to ignore our intuition. Sometimes, that intuition just seems to disappear or be clouded over. When we feel like we are ‘falling in love’ it creates a powerful feeling. Be alert that this can happen and if you can’t feel your intuition anymore, try to find it. This may sound really funny, but your intuition is your best friend! You may feel like that guy is your soul mate or you can’t live without him, but really, you can’t live without yourself. Your intuition is the closest thing to keeping true to yourself.

Pay attention to that little voice inside. If it raises a red flag about your relationship, listen close. Don’t be afraid to ask friends for help.

If you’re having trouble hearing that little voice, here are a couple of questions you can ask yourself to see if your relationship is on track.

Do you respect each other?

Does he listen to what you have to say?

How do you feel when you are together?

Do you ever feel disrespected, hurt, or less than amazing? If so, it’s probably time to rethink things and listen to your gut.
